When you confirm your booking by the payment of a deposit you are entering into a contract between you, the guest, and Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage. Please read the following conditions of let carefully and ask for an explanation of any point that may be unclear to you. You will be asked to confirm your acceptance before booking.

Terms & conditions

1. 1.The letting period runs from 4pm on the day of arrival until 10am on the day of departure.
   

2. 2.A firm booking will be made on receipt of a completed booking form and deposit paid to the value of
   25% of the total rental due (or £100 - whichever is greater). The remainder of balance due should be received by Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage four weeks prior to arrival. Any bookings made within 4 weeks of arrival should be paid in full at time of booking.
   

3. 3.In the event of a cancellation the deposit will be refunded only if the property can be re-let for the cancelled period. The guest is responsible for arrangements of appropriate holiday cancellation insurance and, for the avoidance of any doubt, Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage provides no such insurance as part of the contract.
   

4. 4.The property should be kept clean and in good condition and any breakage's reported immediately.
   If excessive cleaning is required, at the discretion of Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage, a cleaning charge
   of £25 will be levied. A security deposit of £100 is required against which any repair of damage or replacement of breakages, can be offset. This must be paid when the final payment for the booking
   is made. After your stay this (or any remaining balance) will be returned to the guest as soon as possible by Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage – usually within seven days. In the event that the cost of putting right the property owing to damage or negligence by the guest exceeds the security deposit, then Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage will pursue the guest for any outstanding amounts
   

5. 5.Due to the high fire risk, candles are not allowed in the house.
   

6. 6.The person who signs the booking form will be responsible for ensuring that the conditions of let are adhered to, for any loss or damage to the accommodation and the contents, given fair wear and tear, however caused during the rental period.
   

7. 7.Personal property of guests is not the responsibility of Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage. Vehicles and personal items are left entirely at your own risk.
   

8. 8.If for any reason the property is not available to you on the dates booked due to events beyond our reasonable control, Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage will take reasonable steps to find alternative accommodation. If suitable accommodation is not available, then all sums paid by the guest will be refunded. Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage will have no further liability to the guest or any other party.
   

9. 9.Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage cannot accept liability in the event that adverse weather conditions or road closures affect your travel plans and no refunds will be given for delayed or non arrivals.
   

10. 10.Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage cannot be held responsible in any way for any failure of Utility Services
    (e.g. electricity or water supply) which is beyond their reasonable control and no refunds will be given in the event of any supply or service failure.
    

11. 11.Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage reserve the right to refuse to hand over the accommodation to anyone who, in our opinion, is not suitable to take charge of the property - in any such case all moneys shall be refunded and the contract terminated without further liability. We also reserve the right to terminate the contract at any time or remove any person or persons due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to property or causing or likely to cause annoyance or offence to other guests. In such a case any refund would be entirely at the discretion of Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage. Rentals will not be accepted by anyone under 21 years old.
    

12. 12.Dogs may be allowed in Gilstrua but only with prior approval. The charge is £15 for one dog. Dogs are permitted provided they are fully house trained and are kept under control at all times. You must bring bedding for your pet and it must not be allowed on the beds or lounge suite under any circumstances, or left unattended in the property. Out of doors, your pet should be kept under control and on no account should your dog be allowed to foul in the garden areas. If a mishap does occur, it should be cleaned up immediately. There are several 'poo bins' in the close vicinity of the property. Please use these bins and not the property's wheelie bin. Pet owners are obliged to leave the property dog hair and odour free. If this obligation is not fulfilled any additional cleaning etc will be charged as laid out in clause 4.
    

13. 13.Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage is a strictly NO SMOKING property.
    

14. 14.Gilstrua Self Catering Cottage is to be used for the purposes of a holiday let to which Section 12 (2) and paragraph 8 of Schedule 4 of the Housing(Scotland) Act 1988 apply. The booking agreement confers a right to occupy the accommodation for the agreed period only.
